It seems, then, that those who seek to protect business methods and are at all unsure about the patent-eligibility of their IP would be well advised to seek trade secret protection, rather than wasting their time applying for patents, exposing their intellectual property to the public, and spending perhaps millions in patent litigation that they could well lose.
